MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

To apply for membership to SEA, please submit the form below. This application should demonstrate skills in Spanish language editing in one of the following ways:

• a year of experience as an editor (freelance/independent, in house, or both),
• completion of a University degree related to writing and editing, 
• completion of a certificate program or an accredited program related to editing,
• experience in Spanish language editing.

The Membership Committee will review your application and you will be notified of your status by e-mail within two weeks.

If you’re accepted as a SEA member, we will invoice you online for your first annual dues payment of $150*. You will be prompted to renew your membership in the following years.

As a member, you will receive many benefits and discounts, including  Manual de estilo Chicago-Deusto and The Chicago Manual of Style.

Your membership will become effective after approval of your application and receipt of your dues.

*COVID-19 Update: During these uncertain times, we have temporarily reduced the annual membership fee to $75 per year. Members who paid during the initial months of the pandemic will receive a rebate towards the following year and we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments accordingly.
